Suzy Bishop Moonrise Kingdom

I was so excited when "Moonrise Kingdom" came out. I'm a HUGE fan of Wes Anderson and his work... I pretty much love every movie that he has directed. I was extra interested in Suzy Bishop's character played by Kara Hayward. I was all in a tizzy when I saw her 60's inspired dresses, knee socks and blue eye shadow! I'm obsessed with collars right now and her white cuffed sleeves and white pointy collar are so toot! I'm a true believer in knee socks and saddle shoes. I'm hoping to get a pair soon. Also a big want on my list is a record player. I'm kicking myself because I gave my portable record player away when I moved in with the Mister. I had a sweet record collection going too. I will have to start over again. On a happy note...I bought a brand new pair of white knee socks at Target yesterday and I plan on wearing them in the near future!

back to basics

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! I'm so excited for tomorrow morning I can hardly wait. Last night The Mister and I went to Mark and Cindy's house (bro and sis in law) to exchange gifts. We got toys for the kids and they gifted us a beautiful set of candle holders. We ate a great meal which consisted of Lobster Tail and potatoes with onions and shiitake mushrooms. It was delicious. Unfortunately I have to work this morning. Sigh..... oh well. Such is life. I had some spare to to take some daily wear pictures. Matt actually took them real fast for me. We were on out way to The Armadillo Art Bazaar and I wanted to show off my new DIY collar clips that I just made. It was a casual, comfy day for me in leggings and an over sized, washed out denim top.

Here's the DIY clip that I made. I took buttons and simply glued then to clip on earring backs and connected to chains to the back with needle nose pliers. Voila!

The Art Bazaar was fun. They served drinks and had a local band playing. I saw some good art and some bad art and talked to some really nice people. We ended up buying two antique drawers from a letter press company. They are now hanging in our living room with a few of Matt's fossils in them. We will have to get one more to complete the wall. All in all it was a good day.
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

all that glitters....

I've been obsessing over New Years Eve recently and it's not even Christmas yet! Is that bad? I was inspired by a blog post that I saw on The Charley Girl about sparkle. I've been searching online for pretty party dresses and shoes and all the accessories.... I'm such a girly girl and just love to play dress up. In the past I have always worn a little black dress... which is fine but I want to go all out this year! My friend's Sapana and Pip are hosting a NYE party at there awesome condo in downtown Austin. They have the coolest view from their window of the street below and I can't wait to see the crowds of people walking by. I love to people watch and check out what everyone is wearing. I also love the bubbly too! Here's some sparkly NYE outfits that I found. Take a gander.

This is an image that inspired me to search for everything glitz.

I hope that this post inspires you to find your very own glittery fun outfit for NYE.
I will definitely be capturing images from the party and be blogging later...but first I must enjoy Christmas.
Later kittens.
