I'm such a kook. I love my beach party movies and I love me some Annette Funicello. Beach Party movies were an American 1960s genre sensation. The first one to hit was Beach Party in 1963 and was copied by every other studio. I stand firm that Gidget (staring Sandra Dee) is and will always be the first "true" beach party movie in my heart.
