Hello Houston!

The Mister and I recently went to our friends Wedding in Houston a few weeks ago. Houston is beautiful and the Wedding was amazing. The grass was actually green and the trees were lush. I'm so used to everything being brown because the sun is so intense in Austin..... it was a nice break. So the next day we decided to go to The Natural History Museum that we heard so much about. Here's some awesome pictures I took with my iphone.

So those were all the stuffed animals we saw.

And then..... The butterfly room!

If you're ever in Houston you should check it out.

Holiday Wreath DIY Design

My friend Megan sent me a picture of a really cute wreath design that she found on line. It was so cute and fabulous that I decided to recreate it for this Fall.

For this wreath you are going to need A wicker wreath from a craft store. They are not too expensive. I bought a small one for about 3 dollars. You will also need felt in Fall colors and of course scissors and a hot glue gun.

So the first step is to mark and cut out circles in various sizes. I created 3 different sizes with embroidery hoops. Next cut them out.

After cutting out the felt circles..... cut around the outside all the way into the inside and then begin to roll them back up to make the shape on a flower bud. Once done rolling them up glue them to a separate sheet of felt. I used black. Make sure they are secure to the backing of the flower.

Once they are all glued to the other sheet of felt backing cut them out. This is just the same technique as the flower bud rings as shown in the other DIY post.

Now begin to glue the flower buds in the desired place.

And there you have it! Once you are finished place the wreath as a warm welcoming to any guest that comes into your home.
Happy Fall!

XOXOXO
