Blog of the month... CiCi Marie

My newest "Blog of The Month" I stumbled upon just recently. Meet the adorable and oh so petite CiCi Marie. CiCi is a young wee little gal living in Cambridge... hence the amazing scenery in all her images!! Not only are the backdrops of her images breathtakingly lush but so are her adorable rosy pink cheeks and red lips. CiCi has the sweetest makeup reviews and tutorials for gals that are looking to achieve a lil' bit of a vintage vixen vibe. Her style is reminiscent of the 1950's with a modern twist. She is truly a little girlie after my own heart... as I too adore vintage clothing. I went ahead and picked out my absolute favorite "outfit posts" of CiCi's to share with all of you....

I do believe this outfit post is my all time favorite.
I just love this two piece denim ensemble.

What a wonderful picnic outfit or a romp in the park.
Loving this gingham tank with dark jeans.

I just love CiCi's Full Skirt paired with"Swedish Hasbeens"... they add that perfect pop of red.

Check out all CiCi's amazing and informative reviews and tutorials here.

and here.....

Red lips are a must!

I'm obsessed with this adorable striped wiggle dress

Loving this nautical inspired look taken on a very windy and cold day... the pictures look wonderful non the less as well as CiCi's hair and polka dot skirt!

Um.... is that The Eiffel Tower behind you CiCi?
Yup... CiCi is looking adorable as ever in Paris. She manages to be stylish yet remain comfortable in her little black flats.

Rainy day wearing vintage....

Here it is in all it's glory.... the whole "rainy day wearing vintage" post. I just had to share it with all my fellow bloggers over here on Nothing but a Pigeon. This dress is too adorable... don't ya think? I borrowed this sweet little frock from Katie of Butterfly loves Snapdragons. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to wear this awesome vintage find..... as you all know my love for little vintage dresses runs deep.

I also couldn't wait to show off my new white rimmed glasses I purchased from Mod Cloth! I adore them because they give off that mod sixties vibe that I love oh so much.

It's been unusually wet in Austin the past week. The sun has finally made it's way back out but we had a few good down pours before that happened. Now it's a whole lot cooler here in east Austin and it almost feels like Fall.... almost. Rain couldn't stop me from taking a few pictures, I even got to break out my polka dot umbrella... which I never get to use here.

I love it when it rains... the sound, the smell. We even got to see a few rainbows after the clouds cleared. There's something so magical about the rain. We really needed it here in Austin... we've been in a drought for the last seven years or so. Anything we can get really helps. It's also nice to get a break from watering the garden as well.

Of course my outfit wouldn't be complete without my white knee socks. I'm obsessed with knee socks if you couldn't tell. I wear them with everything... I might need an intervention one of these days.

I'm so glad that it's the middle of the work week. The Mister and I have had a lot on our plates lately. I have an unusual amount of orders I have to fill (which is good... don't get me wrong) and Matt has been working overtime at The Firm to get projects completed and out. We also had a little house guest this last weekend.... Lapu. Lapu is our friends and neighbors from up the streets Yorkie. He is tiny, sweet and seriously adorable. It was a lot of fun to watch him. You can check out how cute he is for yourself on my Instagram feed here. We are also in the middle of re-organizing The Studio in our backyard to make it more functional for my little crochet business... which by the way is blowing up. There is exciting things in the works going on right now. I also managed to get my little crochet critters into two new and very awesome stores. We are 1976 in Dallas and Wee, located here in Austin. Yay! This weekend will be full of assembling Ikea shelves and tables for our Studio. I can't wait to get everything situated.... more on that later. Hope everyone is having a great week.

Lady in red....

Happy Monday kittens! This is an older Flock Together post that I wanted to share with ya'll. I borrowed this sweet little red dress from Sammi of The Soubrette Brunette. It took a few mini photo sessions to get "the look" that I was going for but I think I'm pretty satisfied.

There I go again wearing those white knee socks.... maybe it's time I switch it up a bit. I can't wait for Fall and Winter weather so I can wear tights again! I have a huge collection of tights that I'm just dying to wear! For now.... the knee socks will have to do.

Don't you just adore this scalloped collar? It's amazing.... I'm a sucker for Peter Pan collars so this is right up my alley. It's rare to see me in red but I love this dress! I think red is one of those tones that I tend to "shy away from." It's pretty bold and daring if you ask me... which is quite opposite from my personality. Let's just say "I'm a Charlotte." I would however have a change of heart if I found a red dress that was cut like this one. It really does flatter me in all the right places.

I've been doing things "out of my comfort zone" for awhile now... so much that my unusual is becoming my usual. Weird right?!? I've gotten very comfortable with being uncomfortable. That means me stepping out of the box... wearing and doing things that I normally wouldn't. It's been fun and a little scary but I have to say I've learned a lot about myself. I'm not just talking about my clothes guys... lol.

Sophie is spying on me.... bad little girl! She's always gotta be up in my buisness.

I think next time I see an awesome red dress like this I may just have to purchase it. It's a great "power dress" but still manages to remain adorable because of the legnth, cut and collar. I think I'd buy it in every color if I could!

You know me.... gotta wear a bouffant everyday! I'm super excited about some upcoming outfit posts I have planned for this season. I scored some awesome finds at the thrift store the other day and can't wait to show them off to everyone. I also have a very sweet "Blog of the Month" post planned as well as some rad movie posts. Yup, that's right.... movie posts. I've seen some good ones and wanna gab about them. Yay!

Well, that's all she wrote ladies. See you in a few days. Meow!

Beach blossoms...

Hiya! I'm back at the Beach (not really).
I just took a little break from posting vacation pictures... but I'm back at it... mixing it up with this very yellow dress from Forever 21. I had no idea that these beautiful yellow flowers would be in full bloom when we arrived at our friend's little Beach Bungalow. It was meant to be I suppose... what a perfect pairing no?

I was sweating bullets during this photo shoot... lol. This dress is actually sleeveless but I wasn't feelin' it... so I threw on this cobalt blue cardi that just so happened to match my head scarf. This is me trying to look cool. It was literally impossible to do anything with my fine, straight hair in the humidity... so up she went. I've come to learn that it's just easier to throw my hair up while frolicking at the beach. The wind is "off the hook" and it just always becomes a tangled mess.... so why not just save the time and energy ya know?

I'm obsessed with white knee socks right now... I know right? I think it brings a little bit of a fun sixties vibe. I could be totally wrong.... I mean maybe it looks ridiculous. I do get a lot of nasty looks when I wear them. Sheesh. I walked into an ice cream store (with the Mister) and this old lady almost flew out of her chair when she looked at me. Her jaw literally dropped and she actually pointed at me. I was like.... "rude much!" Either she thought I was cool as all hell or she thought it was completely inappropriate for a 33 year old women to be wearing knee socks in the middle of Summer. I guess it's closer to Fall... but you see where I'm going with this right? Whatever... I likes what I likes.

Me waiting patiently while Matt takes my picture.

I can't wait to rock this mustard colored dress during the Fall! This  happens to be one of my favorite colors and it's gonna look swell paired with some neutral tones. I've got some ideas in mind already! Weeeeee! I hope everyones week is going by fast.... I live for the weekends. I got some awesome plans on how to spend mine and it involves The Mister, our new firepit and some smores. Heyyyyo! What are some fun Fall traditions that you all enjoy? I'd love to hear all about them.

The crop top....

Happy Monday kittens! Wow, my weekend flew by super fast. Light speed almost. I've been super busy lately with my little crochet business. I came back from vacation with a bunch of orders to fill! I can't complain... this is what I wanted.... a successful business. I have to admit... I panicked at first, but I got everything organized and dove in head first. It's exciting yet scary at the same time... I love owning my own business though. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Lets talk about this crop top! This is my first time wearing one ya'll... I never even wore one as a tiny child growing up in the 80's! I've seen other gals wear them and always thought to myself "Gee, I'd love to be able to pull that off." I never ever thought I could or would. I guess it's a small accomplishment. I fell in love with this striped crop top when I saw it at Forever 21. I liked the fact that it has long sleeves and has a high collar.... so it off sets the shortness (crop) of it.

I think the secret to wearing a crop top (for us regular sized gals) is wearing a high waisted skirt or bottom paired with it. It covers all your lady parts while flattering your waist at the same time. I also like that you only see a sliver or hint of my stomach. Just enough.....

I also nabbed this awesome HUGE chunky chain necklace while I was there
(which was my soul purpose for actually going to XXI). I saw it in Lucky Magazine and had to have it. I just love dressing up and accessorizing my outfits. I'm so much more into jewelry and makeup now than I ever was in the past. It's so much fun! This chunky necklace goes perfectly with my charm bracelet!

Now that my bangs are growing out I've been paying a lot more attention to my brows... eye brows that is. Ha! I've never really had to fuss with them too much because my bangs always covered them up. Now I've been filling them in and shaping them more and they look amazing! I have four different products that I've found and use and just love. I'll have to do a mini tutorial and show ya'll what products I'm into lately. Squeeeee!

It's so weird.... I've always had low self esteem (like majorly) but recently I've felt super confident and am actually learning to be "okay" with who I am as a woman. Why the hell did it take me 33 years to get to this point in my life? I guess I'm just a late bloomer so to speak. Better late than never I guess. Anyhow, it's awesome. It feels good.

I can't wait for the Fall weather to arrive here in Austin. We actually had a cold snap this weekend and I got a taste of Autumn. It was short lived and now it's back in the 90's.... at least it's not in the 100's anymore. I've got some amazing Fall outfits lined up and ready to go. I'm also looking forward to ALL Fall traditions including starting up our fire pit in the back yard. We just purchased a new one and are currently waiting on the cool weather and stores to start selling firewood and then it's ON! I love sitting in the backyard with The Mister, sipping on some Malbec (my favorite) reminiscing on our past adventures together. That's the best! What are some of y'alls favorite Fall traditions?

La Jetee'

Hello there!!! I'm back from Port Aransas with the Mister. It was a beautiful and relaxing fun filled four days.... I really wish we could have stayed longer but we both had work we had to come home to (which isn't always a bad thing) especially when you love your job like I do!

Speaking of my job.... I have some interesting news that I can't wait to share with everyone! I have to wait just a tad bit longer to let "the cat out of the bag" but it's really exciting!! Eeeeeep! There are many doors opening up for me right now... which is funny because the last two weeks have been really troublesome for me emotionally and mentally. It looks like this girls luck is turning around!!

I'm standing on our favorite pier where the Mister and I watch the ships come and go. It's pretty cool to see all the HUGE tankers tuggin' away with all the little friendly dolphins swimming along side. My favorite are the little sail boats... I would love to learn how to sail someday. It's a small goal that I could totally see myself achieving.

I was super excited to get a chance to wear this sailboat dress again that I purchased from Mod Cloth. I just adore it and it's totally appropriate to wear to the beach!

I decided to pair the dress with my favorite "go to" red cardigan and my new shoes that I scored at Target a few weeks ago. I usually don't wear my hair so tightly pulled back but it was humid as all hell and I am growing out my bangs. They are at that "awkward" phase where I just am not quite sure what to do with them. Ha! The look ended up being cute and I was pleasantly surprised... so there you go.

I just love planning my outfits for when the Mister and I go to the beach! It seriously makes me giddy... I go crazy thinking of all the was I can style my clothes to get that "nautical look." I ended up over packing and not being able to capture a few looks that I wanted to squeeze in, but there's always next time.

I even purchased some round, white framed shades from Mod Cloth specifically for the beach but sadly they didn't make it to my house in time. It's cool though.... I have plans for them in future photo shoots. They are very retro and give off that "sixties vibe" that I can't seem to get enough of.

The Summer is winding down and there is only a few more weeks until it's "Officially Fall." Unfortunately, it won't start to cool down around here till November. I still look forward to all the Autumn and Fall traditions... such as pumpkin carving, Halloween costumes, eating or drinking anything with pumpkin spice in it and scary movies!!! There are still a few more things on my Summer "Bucket List" that I'd like to do but all in all this Summer has been one of the best that I can remember. I've grown and made a lot of changes over the course of this year.... I also became a healthier person mentally and physically since my illnesses. I've overcome a lot of obstacles and have set goals for myself that I've actually achieved. When I look back at the person I was a year ago and the person I am today it's quite shocking to see the change... mostly it's all internal. I've taken huge strides to get to be where I am now with my business, and in my personal life. I am the happiest I've been in such a long time and have my Husband Matt to thank for most of it. Gosh.... I didn't mean to get all gushy on you guys!

Thanks for stopping by my little ol' bloggy! I just love comments and responding back to them so feel free to leave one.
