Fellaniece

Meet the adorably cute Fellaniece! Isn't she so darling? I'm always in awe of people that have flawless makeup and Fellaniece is one of those talented makeup Guru's that has a knack for executing the perfect smokey eye. Not to mention her creamy complection and lovely skin.... sheesh! No but seriously though.... I had to walk right up and talk to her. Fellaneice is a fresh faced 20 year old going to school full time majoring in "General Studies" for the time being and living in Austin... but she's orgianlly from a Galviston. I got to chat with Fellaniece during our "photo session" and got to know her a little bit better and I have to tell you she is as sweet as can be! Here's what she had to say.....

Q: Spring is here... what are some of your favorite Spring makeup trends for this year?
ASome if my favorite spring makeup trends would be a natural eye, or a smokey eye the products I use on my eyes are mainly the Naked 2&3 palette.

Q: Whom is your favorite style icon and or where do you get your inspiration from?
A I get my inspiration from my sister, she inspires me to keep trying to improve my makeup skills and she does a lovely job doing her makeup. I love going to her house and playing in all her makeup she has a much bigger collection than me. She the reason why I'm so hooked, some of my favorite certain celebrities looks would be Rhianna and Kim Kardashian or even some people I follow on Instagram.

Q: What's your "go to" product? Are you brand loyal... any products that are tried and true?
A: My "go to" product would be my Benefit Brow Zing. Yes, I am brand loyal the products I mainly use are MAC cosmetics,Urban Decay,Too Faced , and some other products from Sephora. The products that I've tried that really worked for me would be. MAC lip conditioner since I have really bad dry lips in the summer and winter. And there foundation I used Studio Fix Liquid NW45, it gives me great coverage throughout the whole entire day.

Describe your daily "makeup routine" step by step.

1. Wash & exfoliate (clean&clear deep action scrub and I let my face air dry)
2. Moisturizer (I use any moisturizer that I can get my hands on)
3.Think about what kind of look I want to go go for today ? Hmmm
4.Apply my PRO Longwear Concealer (I apply with a concealer brush & I apply the concealer under my eyes)
5.Take my Benefit Brow Zing & Eyebrow Angled Brush ( after I finish each brow I take my NYX HD Photogenic       Concealer which goes under my brow to clean up everything)
6.Foundation Time (MAC Studio Fix liquid with a Sonia Kashuk Foundation Brush or a sponge)
7.Benefit Watt"s Highlighter (this is a amazing highlighter) I apply it under my eyes where the concealer went, I also draw and on my nose and one on my chin)
8.I Blend every thing in making sure I put enough highlighter and my foundation is blended is as we'll !!!
9. Blush I use NARS or MAC (the blush I pretty much wear all the time would be MAC Fever, and I apply it on with a Sonia Kashuk blush brush)
10.Eyes time I use my NAKED 2or 3 palette (I always add a eye primer which helps keep my eyeshadow on even longer) & I use these cute little pink brushes I bought from Instagram called GirlyGirlBrushes. I love them so much
11.Mascara & False lashes (I use Sephora mascara like Lorac PRO or Tarte lights, camera, flashes) I always apply my lashes first I usually used Ardell or House of lashes. After my lashes are on I apply and top and lower coat of mascara.
12. I always check and see if I missed anything and I usually go back to my eyes and make sure everything is we'll blended.
13. Lipstick (sometimes I start with a lip liner other times I don't.)  I always use MAC lipsticks there my favorite I usually go with a nude like Blankety or Empowered.
14. All done!

"One thing I love to do is makeup... I'm not a makeup artist yet but I love to do so. Doing makeup on myself makes me feel happy and I think it's a beautiful thing. I always look at it like your painting a picture of a face over and over until you get it right. But anywho I'm happy to be here and I love life."

Enchanted little chapel...

This is officially my last Port Aransas post... I swear! I just had to share with everyone this magical little backyard chapel the Mister and I came across during our beach adventures. It's literally in someones backyard right behind the cutest little B&B. It has one of the most enchanted little stair cases and is surrounded by beach oats and agave plants. It's the most beautiful little chapel I ever did see. The Mister and I didn't get married in a church as neither one of us are religious by any means but if we were to get married in one this would be it! It was so adorable with only four tiny pews on the inside there was just enough room for about eight people and the Minister.

Look at the beautiful pathway.... and the sweet little stain glass window! Ugh... this would be the perfect get away for any newlyweds. I assume the B&B would be where the honeymooners would stay.

I just adore how the Chapel has white washed walls.... it looks similar to the old missions that the Spaniards built back in the day.

The sea oats are so beautiful blowing in the wind and it's right off the beach. Just a quick walk over the hill and your on Mustang Island.

Unfortunately, I think by code they had to put in this railing. It doesn't really match the style of the chapel but I'm sure whomever owns the chapel doesn't want to get sued if someone were to take a nasty spill down these stairs. I can see the salty sea air making the wood weather with time and it eventually blending in more with the landscape.

Sigh..... maybe for our ten year anniversary we can renew our wedding vows and do it here at this very chapel and I can wear a beautiful white dress again. A girl can dream can't she? Alright.... that's officially all my posts from our mini vacation to the very beachy Port Aransas, Texas. I hope you've all enjoyed my nautical inspired outfits and I promise I lay off the red lipstick now! Ha!

April showers....

Oh hello there! I'm taking a break from all the nautical wear (although if I were on a beach it could appear as I'm wearing nautical clothing) to revisit this favorite old frock that the Mister bought me ages ago. I forgot all about it and re-discovered it in the back of my closet. It was like Christmas all over again!! Weeeeeeee! I have to say... I think that I styled it better here than I did in the last post I wore it with Mandy in Yoakum, Texas. I think my fashion sense has come along way since then but for the record it was balls hot that day in Yoakum and I couldn't do anything with my hair because I was sweating bullets. It was quite gross... but that's how it gets in Texas in the Summer. Sometimes it's impossible to look cute. It's still moderately cool here right now especially with all this rain we've been getting.... but you know what they say?? April showers bring May flowers and I'm so glad we are receiving some rain because I love me some spring flowers which are all over the place in Austin.  This gorgeous field is located right behind our home just up and over the hill. It makes for a wonderful setting. Now I truly understand what the expression "everything is all abuzz" means. There are honey bees and butterflies all over the place flying from blossom to blossom. Spring is such a magical time.

I'm a big fan of polka dots. There is something so classic and timeless about them... it makes me think of those beautiful little 40's style dresses my Grandma used to wear back in her youth. You really can't go wrong with a print like this. The Husbear bought this for me a few years back for Christmas. He always does such a wonderful job of picking out dresses for me. He really has a knack for it.... it never ceases to amaze me. What a guy eh? He was pretty happy to see this old dress make an appearance again.

I recently made a trip to my favorite local thrift store and stocked up on scarves for the Summer. They're so easy to wear and I think really eye catching as well. I'll have to make a few tutorials later on but I love playing around with different ways to style them. I especially love this scarf because it has tulips on it. Yay for flowers!

My new red cardi is also making another appearance again. I bought it specifically for my nautical themed vacation pics but I'm finding that it goes with pretty much everything. I'm quite happy with my purchase.

I just got my hair cut once again. I wanted even more layers added in and I also am planning on growing out my bangs and wanted to get them cut so they could be pushed to the side and grow out gracefully. I can't wait to show ya'll the shaggy layers soon!

My classic t-strapped shoes go great with this dress and the red card.

and...... a close up of my very fun colored pedicure! Weeeeeee! I've got so many ideas swirling around in my head for future outfit posts. I can't wait for the warmer weather to approach so the Mister and I can go to Lake Travis and visit the Blue Hole once again. This Spring is going to be jam packed with fun in the Sun! Does anyone have any special plans for their Spring? I would love to hear all about them and I just adore comments and try my best to respond to each and everyone of them! Eeeeep!

The light house

Hello there everyone! How is everyone's work week going so far? I'm busy crocheting my little heart out in preparation for an upcoming show in early May. I'm pretty sure I already announced that I was going to be participating in Pop Shop Houston's show this Spring. I'm super excited and nervous about traveling but I'm pushing myself constantly to try new things even if I'm scared to do them. It seems like I'm living outside of my comfort zone on a daily basis right now.... which makes me a ball of anxiety but I'm always glad that I pushed myself in the end. This last weekend I actually had a little melt down just because I did so much. Some people don't really understand but I'm an introvert and for me to go out and do a lot of social interacting stresses me out. I'm fine around close people that I'm comfortable with but I rarely go out dancing or drinking with people because I just don't like the crowds and it's quite frankly not my idea of a good time. I pushed myself too far this weekend and ended up having a mini anxiety attack. I'm so glad the Husbear was there and knows just the right thing to do to make me feel better. I think I'm going to be staying in for quite awhile. This is one of my last vacation post in Port Aransas. It was fun but I'm glad to be back in Austin getting back into the grind. This is my last nautical outfit post. As you can see this last outfit is way more layer back and casual than my others. It was the end of the trip and things were winding down and I wanted to be comfortable. I'm still rockin' the scarf and red lipstick though!!

There's only one Lighthouse in Port Aransas but it's now owned by a family that resides in it and it's not open to the public so I had to make due with this faux lighthouse in front of a souvenir shop. Ha! Did I fool you? It's pretty large and is there for photo ops.... so I thought "why not?" It worked out swell in the end. It was drizzling during the mini photo session... drizzling and rather cold. I'm glad I packed this button down from Old Navy originally intended for the Mister but he never wore it so it officially became mine. We joke around and call it my "smoking jacket" because well.... it kinda looks like an old mans smoking jacket

I'm so glad I tied my hair back because it was super windy as it always is by the beach. This bandanna is actually the Misters but I borrowed it for this occasion.

After the photo op we walked along Mustang Island and watched as people built professional sandcastles for a competition. It was relaxing not having the pups with us... it gave us the opportunity to look for seashells and take in the sights. Here's a fun little video of me romping around in the water. It was soooo cold!

shark attack!

Oh my! Help!!! I just couldn't resist a mini photo session with the classic "Shark Jaws". How could I pass up the opportunity? These fun photo ops are all over Port Aransas... but this prop was freshly painted and in front of a souvenir store that was turquoise!!! Gah! I had to... and in the end I'm glad I did because I love these adorable images. It pretty much rained the whole time we were on vacation but I didn't let it stop me from partaking in all the touristy goodness. I love cheesy souvenir shops. I don't really buy anything.... I just love to walk around and look at all the merchandise. We did however end up buying beach chairs and paid a small fortune for them. We didn't even end up using them at all! Ha! It's alright... we have them for next time.

I just love this skirt that I found at a local thrift store. I never really had any place to wear it to until now. Look closely.... the skirt has tiny little turquoise polka dots all over it.

I finally got to wear my little brass telescope necklace that the Husbear bought for me ages ago. I've worn it before but it seems most appropriate for this nautical themed photo shoot. It actually works!

I'm loving this elastic head scarf that I bought from Strut last year. I goes perfect with my attire. I'm obsessed with these sunnies from Target. The bigger the better!

Rockin' that red lipstick like a boss!

One of my new favorite wedges... Target does it again!

Thanks for stopping by to read this very touristy post! I'm loving the whole nautical themed photo sessions... it's so fun to style these outfits and get all "dolled up". There are a few more in the series so hang in there. I would love to hear what ya'll think about our adventures in Port Aransas.... comments are always welcome!

Ice cream dreams...

Happy hump day lovies! I'm here at The Desserted Island Ice Cream Parlor in Port Aransas, Texas enjoying some Strawberry ice-cream... which the Husbear promptly dropped on the deck right after these images. It was tragic! I was having a hard time keeping the ice cream from melting all over me so I handed the cone to the Mister and it plopped right on the floor... it was too funny. His expression was classic.... like a sad little boy that lost his ice cream cone to the neighborhood dog or something. Ha! We laughed about it all the way home. It was also super windy and muggy out making for a very difficult photo session.... it all worked out in the end and I have some adorable images to show for it.

I'm toying with the idea of growing my bangs out. They are in an "awkward phase" right now and I don't really know what to do with them. I kinda have a Donald Trump comb over going on here.... thanks a lot wind.

I fell in love all over again with these t-strapped wedges that I re-discovered this Spring.

The ice cream parlor was too cute! I knew I wanted to have a mini photo session there right when I saw it. Everything was so bright and colorful.

Plop!!

All the local stores have one of these billboard's outside them.... they are funny and cute for those "touristy" pictures. Of course I had to partake.

I had so much fun styling nautical outfits for our trip! I knew I had to have this classic red cardigan when I saw it. Pair it with a classic stripped tank and you can't go wrong.

I'm so glad ya'll stopped by and took part in our little ice cream adventure. There's more where that came from... tons of fun nautical wear, scarves, lipstick and sand!

Bird watching Port Aransas style

Happy Monday! I'm back this week with more Port Aransas pictures from our trip to the coast. Bird watching (known as Birding) is taken very seriously in Port A. People travel from all over just to catch a glimpse of the many different types of breeds the Texas Gulf  has to offer. Mustang Island is also known as "The Nest of Texas" runs right along the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail. It has one of the highest bird counts on the Texas Gulf. Who knew?!? There is even an Annual Whooping Crane Festival! The Mister and I heard about this popular Bird Sanctuary hidden behind one of our favorite Breakfast Spots.... so of course we had to check it out. In tradition I overdressed for the occasion. Ha! Hey.... a girl has gotta look cute am I right? I did however come prepared with binoculars and a pair of back up shoes. It was actually a lot of fun! There were a bunch of people there... mostly older people. It was so cute to watch them get all excited when they spotted one. Here's a board where they post what breed of bird they saw on what date.

I'm completely obsessed with red lipstick and scarves right now. I don't think you can go wrong with a "classic red" lip.... plus it was hella windy outside so it actually made sense that I put my hair back and keep it all neat and tidy with a cute scarf. Cute and functional.... my two favorite things. Ha ha!

You must have a pair of binoculars with you at all times when your at Port A. There is so much to see.... even the occasional dolphin! I love spotting all the different types of sandpipers. They are so freaking adorable and tiny!

This older gentleman on the right was the cutest! He got soooo excited when he would spot a bird. He would point it out to everyone around him so they wouldn't miss out and would then describe the breed of bird and it's attributes. It was very sweet. I told my Husbear that when we get old I wanted to always go "birding" with him.... that it would be our hobby. He agreed that it sounded like a great idea.

Seriously trying to spot some birds at this point.

Just a nature photographer with the biggest lens I've ever seen!

There were several observation decks to walk out onto.

Followed by boat watching....

I thought I was going to get blown away....

Although the sun never made an appearance it was quite peaceful in Port Aransas. We walked around for a few hours and then went back to the beach house to cuddle up and read our books. I love vacation time on Mustang Island with all the sounds and smells. It was a good day indeed.
