top knot

Hello Lovies, and Dearies. Top knots are sooo toot! Try one if you haven't but make it high and tight. I love a little bow added her and there. It is best to put it under the bun to secure it. I like to get my bows from American Apparel and I scored a cute one from Pie n' the Sky. I also make my own felt bows! You can check them out on ETSY but I would prefer you e-mail me if you're interested in them at
Taylorheldenbrand@gmail.com instead. Moving on........

I tried doing the hair bow but was unsuccessful. I'll get a hang of it one of these days.

Mandy of Nestled in Nostalgia is a Pro at this look. Me... not so much.

Messy buns are always cute as well.

A braided bun. Hmmmm, nice.

French upside down braid and a bow? My mind....she's blown!

Multi colored top knot. Boom!

I just love this look. It's super easy and cute. It's my to go look when I'm in a pinch. Your hair doesn't even have to be all the way dry. I have really cute side locks and swept away bangs so it's perfect for those nice little flips on the side. Yessssssss!

Have a Goth Halloween!

Hello Lovies! How are all my spooky ladies doing? Is everyone excited for Halloween? Here is my favorite Pinner of Pinterest Christine Blystone. Not only is she the bees knees on Pinterest but she is the fabulous Creator of Lady Ties! Yippeee. I wanted to share with you her magical findings for Halloween and make sure you follow her on Pinterest.

I hope all you little devils have a ghoulish Halloween. Try not to be too bad!
Oh and remember to be responsible...there are a lot of drunk fools out there at night.

fall clothes in the 80's

As Fall nears the weather should be changing but .......it's still in the high 80's. We did have a few days of mild weather.... teasers if you will. Just enough to make everyone break out the sweaters for a day or two. I think this winter I'm going to live in leggings and over sized sweaters with boots. I have skinny jeans from last year but I can barely squeeze into them. I've gained at least a good 10-15 lbs since I've been having health issues. It's hard for me to get it to come off with all the side effects such as being lethargic and the headaches blah blah blah. I really want to be the old me again and someday I will. For now I need to focus on making the right choices in my life that will benefit me and keep me on the right track. That's what I'm aiming for. There are days that I can work out and that's good. So little by little I'll get there. I digress. These are some inspiring outfits that I found that I could see myself in that are completely flattering and comfy.

I'm not much of a jewelry person but I could wear this out for a casual date night with the Mister.

I would love to be able to figure out how to braid my own hair...I just don't have skills. This sweater looks so cuddly.

This belt! These pants! I'm in love!

These are all looking pretty cool to me except for the watches and the weird bright ass scarf in the top middle. WTF!

This is nice.... loving the nautical feel.

This purse is totally wack but everything else is pretty cool.

The is classic and I love the flats...they are realistic. All these outfits are nice cause they seem so chill. I really don't understand fashion blogs that show images of unrealistic expectations. I like to be comfortable and be cozy and natural. There will be more fall post coming up. Also in the fall and winter the Mr. and me love to roast smores around the fire pit! Mmmmmmmm.

The 2012 Blue Genie Art Bazaar

I've been waiting for the dust to settle in my life..... I haven't been posting as much as I normally would. I've been busting my ass at home. Always crocheting. I've also been watching a ton of Horror flicks with Matt getting in the mood for Halloween. Last night we watched "Halloween" The original. I just love Jamie Lee Curtis in that movie. So as you can see above I'm going to be talking about The Blue Genie Art Bazaar. That's because I was selected to be in the show! Heeeeeyoooooo! It was a juried show so I had to apply and be selected so I'm super happy that I was chosen.

Here are just a few examples of what I've been creating lately. These are mostly for Parts & Labour... which is still going well. Everything is selling strong. They want to actually raise my prices, sounds good to me.

Platypus is one of my all time favorite guys.... he is just so simple to make and cute. He went really fast. I'm hoping to someday to keep my patterns and compile them in a book and have them published. We shall see.

Mr. Warthog is another favorite.

As seen with Mr.Bear

 Mr. Kangaroo

Crocodilly...which I later added a yellow birdie to rest on it's head.
There's so many more patterns and little guys since these pictures were taken....I'm so behind Argh. I hope you guys enjoy they artsy fartsy aspect of my blog. It can't all be about fashion for me. There's much more to my life than just dressing up. I feel full of creative ideas right now. I have a feeling that you will be seeing more DIY posts in the near future.
