wild flowers

Today is a beautiful Saturday! The Mister and I decided to check out the wildflowers growing in the fields next where we live. It was an amazing site to see. Good thing we brought our camera to capture the moment..... we really are lucky to live where we do. All the undeveloped property is full of wild flowers this time of year and makes for a lovely setting. I must say I felt very pretty running through the fields.

I love these boots and would never think I would find them at Dots... but they are my "go to" boots now and I usually wear them with skirts and dresses. You will hardly ever see me in jeans.

The fields were covered with little tiny butterflies. They kept fluttering all around us. It was truly magical.

Everyone thinks this ring is super huge... which it is but I love it.

Festival clothing....

With ACL getting closer and the weather getting hotter I'm on the prowl for Festival clothes. I'm totally inspired by Sienna Millers effortless style.... and her not so "put together" look. I found some items that are less expensive for those of us that are on a budget but still want to be fashion forward. There are some key pieces that Sienna has in her wardrobe that are timeless and can be worn over and over again..... especially if your style is Boho-chic. Here's what I found. Enjoy!

This look for Less

$47.99 http://www.zappos.com/

Some of the other items you can get at your local thrift store or flea market. The grey shirt you can get anywhere as well as the chunky bangles and silver necklace. Claires is another option for add on accessories too. Once you have the key items you can mix and match with different outfits.

Let me know what you think and where you get your key pieces and Boho-chic items from.

XOXO

Put a Bow on it

So as you know in the last post I told you that I have been published in a book titled "The Hat Shop"... I wanted to give you a look at the other felt headbands and bows that I have created. I sell them at First Thursday and on Etsy. Take a quick gander. Super cute for young girls to young women. I enjoy wearing them to add a pop of color to my every day wardrobe.

I hope you have enjoyed my bows. They run from $5 to $15.

The Hat Shop

So I can finally let the cat out of the bag..... I've been published! This is a first for me so I'm on cloud nine. I had to keep it under wraps for a few months but the book "The Hat Shop" has finally come out. I was approached by Susanne Woods (The former Editor of (C&T Publishing) on Etsy.com to be selected with 24 other designers to feature there work in "The Hat Shop". I couldn't believe it. Why me? I don't know but there I am as one of the contributors. There are some really talented women in this book and I feel so lucky to be a part of it. Here is a look at some of the contributors work.

There is my work. Black and Grey headband.

The cover of the book.

Sweet Pea

I'm trying to document my style and what I wear on a day to day basis. I even opened a Chictopia account as well in hopes I can get "out there" more. It's worked.... I get most of my comments on Chictopia than I do on nothing but a pigeon. It's opened the door to meet new people that I share common interests with. You also get to link your blog site to Chictopia so they can follow you as well. Here is the last fashion post that I put on Chictopia. It was pretty cool because I got 6 comments (which for me) is a big deal when you are just starting out. The mister took these pictures of me up the street in a vacant/undeveloped lot that was covered in sweet pea blossoms. It was such a nice day and I felt inspired with all the blossoms this spring.

I hoped you enjoyed my fashion post. Please let me know what you think. You can follow me on Chictopia as well.

Shake your Hips and Roll your Eyes

I'm friends with a lot of very talented women.... Mandy Bustamante is one of them. Not only do we work together but we also both share a love for fashion. Mandy is a makeup artist and has worked on many local films here in Austin, Texas..... let's just say she really knows her makeup and does a fantastic job. She is the one that taught me how to wear fake lashes. Mandy is the best and this won't be the last post with her in it. Mandy has recently started her own blog nestled in nostalgia. Yea Mandy!

In this Post is wearing my favorite skirt of hers... I do believe it's from ASOS. She is always dressed to perfection. We had an adventure trying not to get muddy in order to get onto the tracks. It worked out and thank God we didn't have a "Stand by Me" moment. Here's what I captured....

Tell me what you think... I would love to hear comments.

Vintage in Ohio

There is one thing I love more than Thrifting.... it's hunting for Vintage clothing. Trinkets and treasures for miles and miles. Vintage clothing, hats and shoes galore. The musty smell of the past, the hand made dresses. I love it all and my sister Taryn knows it... which is why she took me to an old favorite that I have went to before in Ohio. One of those random vintage stores that know one recalls the name is but knows where they are located, in old town Clintonville Ohio. Lets see some photos....

Ties and books galore....

Actually Mom has some of these pots. Never knew they were valuable.

Love hunting through dresses... it relaxes me as weird as that sounds.

Tons of treasures as far as the eye can see.

I could stay here forever and live in the moment.

I love Lamp.

Me in the reflection.

How can anyone consider this trash?

So many stories behind all of these objects.

I want it all.

These where extremely huge... hmmmmm.

scarves

I don't even know what to say about this corner...

Hello?

This must bring Taryn back to her good ol' band days in High School.

I must seek the perfect vintage dress!

Cute machine

I would definitely cook in this for the Mister.

Looks like Moms...

Trinkets.

Keys and such.

My vintage mini suitcase that I purchased.

There are more adventures to come with Taryn and I and my trip to Ohio.

Let me know what you liked about this post.

XOXO
