Hey guys! Today I'm going to show you how to make two different type of felt rings. Felt is such a great material to work with because it's cheap and you can do just about anything with it. These rings are a fun and fresh way to add a little color to your outfit. Let's get started!
These are the materials that you are going to need. Felt (your choice of color). I'm using teal and orange. A sharpie that we will use to mark the shapes that we will need for the patterns. A CD or a small embroidery hoop. Sharp scissors, some floss and embroidery needle, the rings and finally a hot glue gun (not pictured because it's ugly). You can get all these materials at your local craft store.
The first ring we are going to create is the "rosette ring". It literally looks like a giant rose bud. First take your felt and use a CD or the embroidery hoop to mark a circle and then cute it out.
Once you circle is cut out..... continue to cut around the felt until you come to the center of the circle.
This is what it should look like.
Starting in with the inner most end that you just finished cutting, start to roll the felt back up into itself so it looks like this.... if you need to use a needle to hold the felt in place that works too. Once you get to a certain point when you think it the right size for you you can cut the felt to make an ending. You don't have to use all your felt. I like my rings to be exaggerated. Once you are finished rolling your ring place the top of the ring either on the same color felt or a different color... it really doesn't matter. You will then make a larger circle around the ring to use for the backing.

After cutting the circle out you will also cut a little slit in the center of the felt. This will be used for slipping the ring through.
On the adjustable ring there should be a flat piece that you would glue your materials to. What you want to do is place that piece through the slit that you just cut so that the flat piece is on the side that you will be gluing everything to it.
Once you glue the flower onto the backing and the flat piece of the ring you will the cut the backing so it is the same size as the flower. Once the glue dries the ring and the backing will be completely secure.
Ta da! Now you can rock a cute ring.
For the next ring you will need the same materials but you will be doing a little bit of sewing. You can use any kind of flower petal pattern. I'm using a clover pattern that I found online.
For my ring pattern I'm using two big petals and two small petals. I went ahead and drew around my pattern and now I will cute them out. Once they are cut out I will place them in a certain arrangement so it looks like a flower.....you will see.
See! Now you will use the floss and needle to secure the petals together. I just make a little X pattern in the center a few times and that does the trick.
This next and last step is super easy. Just take a left over piece of felt in the same color and cut a little strip and place the flat part of the ring against the back of the flower and glue the strip over the rings to secure the ring to the flower.
