My first workshop...

Last month I held my very first crochet 101 workshop ever at the Paper Craft + Pantry. I was both nervous and excited for the day. I had a full class of nine ladies and one gentleman,  two of whom are my close friends that decided to support me and sign up for the class. The hour flew by so quickly and by the time we were deep in to crocheting in the round it was time to start wrapping things up. Each participant got a special little gift at the end of the class as well as all the materials needed to make their set of four coasters. Here's some images that Pei and Allie of The Paper Craft + Pantry captured for me.

If you're interested in learning the basics of crochet and are in the Austin area I'll be offering more classes in the near future. You should check out The Paper + Craft Pantry's website for listings of available classes and dates. There are a bunch of fun workshops that Pei offers hosted by very talented artists.

Sawyer & Co.

A few weekends ago the Mister and I went out on a mission to find a new brunch location. We heard about Sawyer & Co. from some friends of ours and wanted to check it out for ourselves. It ended up being super close to us, located on the east side of Austin. I was in awe and amazed when we rolled up to the restaurant... I had no clue it was designed to be a Mid Century/Modern themed Dinner! I live for that era and couldn't wait to check out the inside as well as the patio that I had just spotted through their fence. We were there super early (they open at 9am) so we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves....

We ended up deciding to eat outside under the covered patio because I just couldn't get over how adorable it was!!! They even had astro turf... I mean come on!!

Their patio furnature was to die for!!!

Also, the best part of it all was the food of course! It's Cajun inspired and is super delicious. We had the nicest waitress too.

Fried picjles for breakfast... why not?

I had Eggs Benedict and the Mister had a Crawfish scramble!!

The biscuit was Divine as well.....

I had to take more images on the way out as well. I was super delighted by our experience there and can't wait to take back my Sister and Brother in law when they come into town this month! The food was delicious, the service was great and the patio alone was so fun!

atx blogger mixer

This post is WAY overdue but I've been taking a mini break from the Blogosphere lately...
A few weekends ago my crafty friend Pei of p.s. paper shoppe and I attended the ATX Blogger Mixer hosted by Erica Louie Lomax and Jessie Coulter at the craziest cute boutique Found with special guest speaker (not to mention talented bag designer) Kelly Wynne.

The clothes were off the chain beautiful....

They had some amazing sponsors as well. Austin Cocktails was there serving up some delicious drinks!

This was the only image I managed to snap of Pei and I throughout the whole night...

Simon Lee Bakery served up some beautiful and delicious treats!

We listened as the adorable Kelly Wynne gave a delightful and awe inspiring speech about her journey into becoming a handbag designer. It was very lovely and did I mention she's adorable?! We were also the first ones to catch a sneak peek at her new Fall line which is inspired by the 70's era.

I met some really cool new gal pals and even got to run into some crafty chicks that I follow on Instagram. It was a fun night full of awesome ladies. There were also some prizes that were raffled off as well courtesy of Mirror Mirror Salon, Melissa Glynn Photography and Beaded By W.
I'm so glad that Pei invited me and I can't wait for the next Mixer!!

take a hike...

Every now and then Le Husband and I will escape our hectic lives and go on a hike together. This is one of our favorite places to go near Lake Travis. We discovered it years ago but haven't been back in quite some time due to me being ill and other life issues. Now that I'm physically well again I can actually make the trip and enjoy the beautiful scenery once again....

I love spending time with the Mister out doors and am so blessed that I can go hiking with him once again. It's been way too long. This weekend we are planning some quality time alone together and I think we may just have to revisit this old hidden gem. It's nice to take a mental vacation every now and then and "un-plug" as they say.... hope everyone is having a great week!
