Mueller Farmer's Market

Sunday was Mueller's weekly Farmer's Market. The Mister and I decided to venture out to this one and take a look around since the weather decided to be nice this weekend. Yay for the Sun! It's been awhile since we've gotten to do anything fun just the two of us together. It seems like we're always running around on the weekend trying to get errands done. This weekend was really nice because we actually decided what we wanted to do and got to spend some quality time together which seems rare...

It was pretty busy this particular Sunday probably because of the weather and also sxsw is going on. We wanted to avoid the downtown area at all cost and I think everyone else in the neighborhood was thinking the exact same thing! I always adore Farmer's Markets and am all about supporting local small businesses and it also brings the community closer and is also great for the economy... don't even get me started!

We purchased some root vegetables and wandered down to a Mead booth where we promptly purchased a bottle and talked to the brewers. The Mister's one great joy in life (among others) is Mead and home brewing which he's determined to get into (which is fine by me). We sampled a bunch and decided to go with a carbonated Mead called "Frontier" which we cracked open that night and devoured. It was indeed delicious!

Here are some of the sweet wine Mead's that we sampled. I was really keen on the "Wildfire" Mead.

If you save your bottle (which is gorgeous btw) them refills are only $10.

For more info n these delightful Mead's check out Meridian Hive Meadery.

Johnson's Backyard Garden is seriously everywhere now! Which I'm super happy about... there quality cannot be beet! Did you see what I just did there? Cannot be beet. Ha ha! Seriously though....

I'm all about there awesome website which is full of recipe's info about veggies and so much more. They also have a weekly CSA box that you can sign up for. I'm about to talk the Mister into signing up for this Spring!

Last but not least is Lauren's Bloody Mary Mix. The Husbear and myself included are obsessed with a good Bloody Mary mix. We stopped by this fine booth and sampled the Habanero mix and of course had to purchase a bottle to take home.... which the Mister drank right away. Ha ha!
There were so many other delicious and interesting booths that we didn't get a chance to visit some because the temptation was too much and we are technically still counting our calorie's. I can't wait till the weather gets even better and we can explore more next time... stay tuned because I have a new craft market that just opened up called "Ladybird Market" created and hosted  by Anne Marie Beard at one of my favorite east side eateries Cherrywood Coffee House
