Hey there sailor...

Hey there my little dolly birds! I'm officially back from Ohio and it feels great! It's always good to see old friends and family but then it's even better to come home to the ones you love. I missed the Husbear and the fur babies way too much and the comfort of my own bed. Ha! I had a wonderful time partaking and having the honor of photographing my dear friend Anna and her awesome new husband Tellis Hall's wedding. It was a beautiful day filled with so much joy and happiness. I didn't have much time to spend with old friends but did at least manage to squeeze in time to see two very close friends that I've been missing very much.

My sister and Brian (my brother in law) took me to some really cool new places to eat and drink as well. Columbus has always been cool to me but so much has changed and it's starting to get a bunch of tiny little breweries and restaurants that are popping up all around town and especially in Clintonville... it actually feels a lot like Austin to me. Taryn and I also made sure we visited Cosi and saw the Sherlock Holmes exhibit. Lol... I got super ticked off because we were supposed to collect evidence and help solve a murder but it was so confusing in the end I just gave up.... it was very cool to see whom the character was based off of and to look at all the old photographs of London in the early 1900's.

Some of the amazing new places that I visited was a bar called Strongwater. Strongwater is a new craft brewery that has opened up on Rich St. in an old warehouse district located downtown. I actually ran into an old college buddy there and we chatted it up for awhile. I also had a wonderful gourmet pizza at Harvest  in German Village. It was so delicious and I really enjoyed seeing all my favorite old houses and buildings. My brother in law Brian also told me all about his charcuterie business that he is working on. It's so awesome to me when people aspire to become a small business owner and work on perfecting their own skill and or craft.

But I'm back now in Austin and am getting acclimated to the hot weather again.... it was actually a tad bit too chilly for me in C-Bus but it was also nice to not be sweating profusely as well. Lol. I'm loving this new dress that I purchased from Ruche a few weeks ago. I was so excited when I got it in the mail because I wanted to wear it while I was in Columbus which is funny because I ended up not even wearing it. I did pack it though....

I feel in love with the nautical look months ago and am slowly building up my new wardrobe with classic pieces. I saw this darling little frock and couldn't pass it up so I promptly purchased it and am so glad that I did because I simply adore it! It's my new favorite piece that I own right now.

I've been sticking to our yard for mini photo sessions on account of the heat... but I love our home and think it makes a swell back drop so I'm totally okay with it. Don't you just love the bright colors? Also... check out our new planters filled with local cacti.

Our plants are sprouting and blooming right now and it makes me soooo happy! Our Pride of Barbados that we thought was dead came back to life and our front yard will soon be filled with bright orange blossoms! I can't wait... it really brings our whole front yard garden together.

In other news... I'm reading a very delightful book called "The Happiness Project" written by Gretchen Rubin. It's about Gretchen's journey over the course of a year actively striving to be a happier person. It's very inspiring and is peppered with fun statistics as well as facts. It's given me inspiration to start my own "happiness project".... which I delve into more later. I've also decided to put together my own memory/scrapbook such as "project life" designed by Becky Higgins. We have a computer full of images/memories that we haven't printed out over the years. I want to tackle it all and "project life" sounds like a great way to compile our little world in a lovely yet affordable way. So I'm digging in and I can't wait to see the outcome! I just love looking at old images with Matt and reminiscing on our past stories and adventures together.

I'm so excited to be back and feel like I'm ready to take on life.... I was describing to my old friends from Ohio a little bit about what I'd been going through over the past three years with being diagnosed with Epilepsy and how it effected my health mentally and physically. Now that I'm healthy again and and quit my horrible job and am actively trying to live a better and healthier life I feel like I'm ready for Summer fun! Lol... seriously, I can't wait to go hiking, paddle boarding and do everything that I couldn't do while I was so ill. I really feel like I've changed so much in the past 8 months.... it's kinda scary but awesome at the same time. I want to be the best person I can possibly be... I'm working on myself inside and out and am learning to love myself body and soul.

xoxo
