Trip to The Dallas Aquarium

So a few weekends ago The Mister and I took a weekend a trip to Dallas to visit some college friends.
We originally had to make the trip to pick up a HVAC system for our Studio that Matt has been finishing up in our backyard.... which by the way is AWESOME! That's a whole other blog post though. So after we found out that we would have to make an unexpected trip to pick up the HVAC system we called up our friends and decided to make a weekend out of it! We were all so excited because we have never seen their place before. Our buddies Laura and Aaron have two young daughters Miriam and Julia that are just adorable. We decided to bring Lucy to play with their two huge Great Pyrenees. It was really funny to watch them interact together. Lucy is small but she pretty much ran the roost.

The first night we hung out and drank some Milk Stout brewed by left hand brewing company that was pretty tasty.

We also watched "Silver Linings Playbook" which made me quite nervous.... I'm not going to spoil it for anyone so don't worry. Basically the synopsis goes like this:
After a stint in a mental institution, former teacher Pat Solitano (played by Bradley Cooper) moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany (played by Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own.
Now I LOVE Jennifer Lawrence soooo much but I wouldn't go as far as to say her character was "mysterious". It was more like "annoying". I'm so sorry Jennifer!!! It's not your fault. Kudos on winning an Oscar though... you really are a great actress. Here's the trailor....

On the second day The Mister and I took off to The Dallas Aquarium. It was packed with kids galore... which kinda made it hard for us to enjoy everything but we toughed it out and saw some amazing fish. Not only were there fish but also a tons of exotic birds and little tinnie weenie Marmosets!

"Marmoset they'll be Days like This"

We also saw a lot of Sea Horses (which I love)... I could watch them float around all day. They are just the most beautiful creatures I think I've ever seen. Here's some Instagrams:

Here is a type of Toucan. They were able to fly free so you could literally walk right up to them.

Here is a GIANT crab. I feel so bad now that I love crab legs. After seeing these guys I don't think I'll be going to Red Lobster anytime soon. They were so peaceful.

Aren't sea horses just magical? There were so many different types. Here's just a few. I actually got to see two sea horse's mating. Did you know that male sea horses not only carry the eggs but also deliver the baby sea horses?

Check out these guys!! Do you see their little snouts and eyes?

There are two different varieties of sea horses here. They both resemble sea kelp.

After the Aquarium The Mister and I took a horse and buggy tour of The West End Historic District where we trotted through Dealey Plaza where John F. Kennedy was assassinated. We past by the Grassy Knoll and the Texas School Book Depository Building which was surprisingly small! Actually the whole stretch of Elm Street, Main Street and Commerce Street was way smaller than what the videos and pictures make it out to be. My Dad would be so proud of me. I snapped pictures of it all but there was so much construction going on at the time. It was a very good weekend full of friends, great food and good drinks. I can't wait to go back to see the Dallas Museum of Art and The Dallas Zoo! This time we will be going during the work week so it won't be so crowded.
