Honey and Sugar scrub

Raw honey is also an effective treatment for acne. A small amount placed on blemishes and acne nightly will often clear the skin in a short period of time. Washing your face with honey will also leave you with sparkling, clean, soft skin.
Make your own honey & sugar scrub!
Here's how to do it:
  1. Warm a jar of honey in the microwave for a few seconds until it becomes runny but not too hot to the touch.
  2. Pour about 1/4 cup of the honey (eyeball it) into a bowl.
  3. Stir in 2 tablespoons of your favorite oil. You can use coconut oil (warm the jar in a hot bath if it's solid), almond oil or even baby oil.
  4. Add about a 1/2 cup of sugar. Mix well.
  5. In the shower, wet your body and turn off the shower.
  6. Place some of the mixture in your palms and massage in a circular motion all over legs, arms, belly, butt and chest (have your husband do your back). Don't do this while the shower's running or you'll wash off the mixture before you get the full effect.
  7. Rinse off in the shower.

Here is a Great All Over Sugar Scrub recipe

You need honey (any kind, but ideally something organic), soft brown sugar and walnut oil.

Fill half of a glass container with the sugar.

Add two tablespoons of honey.

Add the walnut oil.

Mix well. You can adjust the consistency of the scrub by adding some more sugar to make it thicker or more oil to make it thinner and more moisturising.

If you want to use the scrub for you lips or your face, you can fill some of it into a smaller container to keep on your bathroom shelf.

  • As a face scrub: the mixture is soft enough and the honey fights both acne and wrinkles. Unless you have really dry skin, make sure to use a toner afterwards to get rid of any excess oil.

  • Here's some beautiful labels you can print off and adhere to your jar in case you want to spruce it up a bit or give to someone as a gift.
